I have been blessed to travel and see a little bit of this wide world of ours.
Here's the places I've lived/visited
For two years my family lived in Lima, Peru
The most memorable place I visited while we were there is Machu Picchu

I was pretty young but I remember how beautiful and amazing it was.
After two years and a little brother born, my family moved back to the states, and I wouldn't go overseas again until I was 16, when my mother and I went to London, England.

I was crazy in love with all the museums and old building and history all around. I guess as an American and one that hasn't lived in any older towns I really appreciated the architecture and historical significance around me. My mom and I had a great time.
Then with my French class I was able to go to France.

It was AMAZING. The food, the museums the buildings and architecture . We also got to stay with a host family, which mine was rad. There was a certain level of independence because we got to explore in small groups away from the teachers, which meant a lot to my teenage self at the time.
Now as awesome as those experiences were I can't help but be greedy and want more. And as much as I would love to return to those places (France especially) there are new adventures I long for.
And since there's a list about a mile long of places I want to visit I'll just give you my top three.
3. Stockholm, Sweden
| Stockholm |
I don't speak a lick of Swedish but I want to go there SO BAD. Part of it is because I know that a fair amount of my ancestors came from there, and I have (probably unrealistic) visions of tons of green trees, grass and beautiful blue skies. Obviously a little outside the big city. Plus I think of all the stories of trolls, goblins and magic from fairy tales. Ps I really want a Dala horse.
2. Rome, Italy
You already read about how I geek out about museums and history so this should have been a no brainer. Plus I hear the food there is da bomb. And while we're there, there are other cities I would love to visit Florence, Venice, Verona, Pompeii, you get the picture.
1. Tokyo, Japan
I have always wanted to visit Japan but I was leery because you really ought to have someone who speaks and reads the language to get around. But now I do! Bonus points to Adam! In addition to being really cool, Japan holds significance for Adam as well, living there for two years will do that to you. Plus it means a lot to him to visit where his ancestors came from.
